Laser hair removal is another method of removing unwanted hair.  It use to be electrolysis was the only method.  Now lasers can be utilized on certain hair colors to remove unsightly hair growth.  You should understand this method is not permanent, and will usually require maintenance touch ups.  Laser hair removal is also not painless, although it is less painful electrolysis, and a lot quicker time wise.

Do you have a tattoo you want removed ?  A tattoo you are tired of?  Embarrassing?  Need it removed for a job ?  Currently that are several means of correcting unwanted tattoo.  No method is guaranteed, and each method has its own pros and cons.

Laser Tattoo Removal-Laser tattoo removal works for black ink.  It is not a guaranteed method and often leaves bluish-green residual tattoo behind.  This method takes anywhere from 3-10 visits, usually costs an average of $300 per visit. Keloid scarring is possible which may result in a tattoo being removed but being replaced with a large scar. If a large keloid scar is left, sometimes surgical repair is then necessary.  Ask your laser specialist for pictures of previous tattoo removals similar to yours.  Laser tattoo removal works less efficiently for colored inks, and it doesn't work for inks with white pigment in their base.  Simply looking at a pigment may not tell the person if they have white pigment in the base.  White based pigments will sometimes turn black with laser exposure.

Permanent Cosmetic Camouflage-This procedure requires the tattoo placement of flesh colored pigments.  When performing this procedure it is important to realize that flesh colored pigments have white in their base which means that once the camouflage pigment has been placed a laser wont be able to be used for future removal.  This procedure is usually performed after lite glycolic acid peels and microdermabrasion is used to lighten the original tattoo as much as possible.  The tattoo then has several different patches of flesh tone pigments placed in small areas of the tattoo to see how the color works after healing.  This color patch test must heal for 6-8 weeks.  Then when the appropriate flesh tone has been identified, camouflage tattooing can be performed. This procedure is less expensive than laser removal.  It is not guaranteed, and a person should remember that removal is a process, not a single time event.

Tattoo Overdraw-This procedure is done to create a new tattoo that is considered more aesthetically pleasing. It should be performed by a traditional  tattoo artist.  It can be combined with a camouflage procedure.  The tattoo artist engulfs the existing tattoo into a new artistic tattoo.
