General anesthesia is most commonly used during placement of calf implants.

The surgery takes approximately two hours.

Silicone semisolid implants are place in the calf of each leg.

Incisions are usually placed in a inconspicuous place behind the knee

It will be  painful to walk for about 2-4 days.

Pain after implant surgery controlled with medication.

Swelling is moderate for the first week, then gradually resolves.

Mild  bruising usually occurs and may cause pooling of the bruise in the lower leg.

Most patients can resume very light walking and activities after the the first week following calf implant surgery.
